ADMISSION TO 1ST YEAR B.A/B.SC/B.COM HONOURS/GENERAL COURSE FOR THE SESSION 2012-2013

Cost of Form and Prospectus: Rs.100/- only. Form & Prospectus will be available only from the Admission Counters

Admission Forms will be given on and from 06.06.2012 to 08.06.2012 and 11.06.2012 to 15.06.2012 from 11 a.m to 3 p.m ; on 09.06.2012 and 16.06.2012 from 11a.m. to 01 p.m.

Dates of Submission of Forms: 08.06.2012, 11.06.2012 to 15.06.2012 from 12 noon to 3:30 p.m.; and on 09.06.2012 and 16.06.2012 from 11:30 a.m. to 01 p.m.

Merit Lists will be published on 25.06.2012 at 2 p.m

Admission will start on and from 28.06.2012 (Detailed schedules will be notified on 25.06.2012)

 

Primary Eligibility for seeking admission to the 1st Year Course:

  • Must pass 10+2 Examination in 2012 with English as a Compulsory Subject of 100 marks.
  • Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Vocational Examination in 2012 conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training shall be eligible to seek admission to the B.A (General) 1st Year Course of Studies taking the subjects under Humanities Division only.
  • Candidates who have passed the afore-said H.S Examination in 2012 in Business & Commerce shall also be eligible for admission to the B.Com (General) 1st Year Course of Studies under Calcutta University.
  • No candidate shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of recognized regular Course of Studies after passing the previous qualifying examination.

 

Eligibility for Admission to the Honours Courses:

As per CSR/54/09 dated 24.11.2009: “For the purpose of determining eligibility for admission to the Hons. Course, aggregate marks obtained at the pre-qualifying examination shall be calculated by adding the marks in top four subjects in order of marks secured by a candidate. However, marks in Compulsory Environmental Education/Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate of marks. If the subject Environmental Science is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it may be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks”.
